10 Inventions That Might Exist Soon

As I get older, the present looks more and more like a sci-fi movie. Because I’ve grown used to it, I don’t realize this until I stop and think about it. As the future unfolds you have to wonder how people's lives are going to look. Where will they sleep, what will they eat and how will they travel? Here are some exciting inventions.
1. Windowless aeroplanes with panoramic views
future concepts

Like
The future is going to have windowless planes. The concept of the Windowless fuselage might sound claustrophobic, but windows would be replaced with high definition flexible display screens. Using cameras, exteriors of the plane could be broadcasted, or colors associated with sunsets and sunrises could be screened. Without the weight of the material required to reinforce windows, planes would use less fuel, producing less carbon dioxide and possibly reduce the cost of air travel.

2. Energy producing vertical farm towers
future concepts

Like
Vertical farming is going to change how cities will look in the future. The proposed 'smart city' model will address both growing urbanization and sustainable energy by replacing skyscrapers with vertical farming towers. Features such as wind turbines, solar cells and vegetation will ensure the building produces more energy than it uses. Each pebble-like section will offer a different experience: homes, offices, shopping centers, gardens, and even entertainment venues like concert halls.
3. Aircrafts with train-like pod links
future concepts

Like
Imagine a future with a smooth and seamless transition between air and land travel. This is what the idea of a SkyStation proposes. The aircraft, called a SkyShip, would feature pod-like trains that would pick up passengers, luggage, and even fuel so that the aircraft would never have to land. The plane’s wings could be optimized for flight, improvingflying efficiency and shortening travel time.
4. Spiraling underwater cities
future concepts

Like
This project hopes to capitalize on the potential of the deep sea by building an underwater city that could house 5,000 people. The glass-domed city would measure 500 meters in diameter and link air, sea surface and deep sea with the ocean floor. Beneath the dome there would be a giant spiral that would harness power generated by the earth and the ocean floor’s resources. The structure would be built to safeguard against typhoons, earthquakes and temperature change.
5. Solar powered, sustainable homes
future concepts

Like
Solar powered houses have been around for a while now, but the Halohouse has gone one step further with its sustainable living concept. This design boasts a solar panel covered roof, and the rest of the structure is constructed of renewable wood. The house has many modular aspects, allowing for parts to constantly be replaced, fixed or upgraded.
6. Tidal wave powered homes
future concepts

Like
This futuristic houseboat concept proposes that a house could be powered entirely by ocean waves. Tidal waves have not been explored as a sustainable energy source, but they do have a lot of potential to generate electricity for a home. They would also operate with high efficiency as they work symbiotically with wind and solar energies.

7. 3D print your own prosthetic limbs
future concepts

Like
3D printing has come a long way in a short amount of time. In the past, it took a long time to get a prosthetic limb made and they were costly. Now they are beginning to be printed with 3D technology resulting in a more customizable and affordable option. Amputees often complain that their prosthetics look robotic and as a consequence they are never entirely comfortable with it. These new models can look more attractive and work with an individual’s unique physique. Psychologically, this will help wearers feel more at ease with their prosthetics.
8. High speed capsule tube transport
future concepts

Like
In the future you're going to be able to take a 354 mile trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco in 35 minutes. Hyperloop is a futuristic transport system that would feature high-speed capsules being pushed through a series of tubes. These capsules would accommodate 6 to 8 people, and travel at speeds of about 600 mph. Tickets would only cost $20. Sound like a sci-fi movie? Tesla Motors founder, Elon Musk, says the project is a matter of years away.
9. Drone ambulances

Like
This might not seem like the most far-fetched invention on the list, but it’s going to be revolutionary in the field of saving lives. This design would allow for ambulances to avoid one of the biggest pitfalls of city life: traffic jams. When it comes to emergency medicine, seconds count. A drone ambulance could accommodate a patient and EMT, it can land anywhere and reach patients in mere minutes.
10. Sustainable floating cities
future concepts

Like
Called Noah’s Ark, this innovative idea offers refuge on water if ever a natural catastrophe or warfare were to plague a country. This island could house humans, animals, and plant life, and has room for homes, offices, parks, forests and even beaches. The floating city would feature giant turbines beneath it which would convert ocean currents to energy. To protect against harsh sea winds or tsunamis, the city would also feature 210 feet tall walls.
